Our members are actively involved in academic activities,
teaching at undergraduate level within the different
engineering syllabus present at the UdG:
We supervise Final Projects
for undergraduates coursing their last year. Examples
of these works are:
- Optimization
of the aerodynamic shape of a monovolume car.
In this project, the shape of a generic monovolume
car is optimized to improve its aerodynamic performance.
The innovative technique followed is that of Surface
of Response, combined with a Kriging interpolation.
- Case
study: CFD simulation of thermal convection in buildings.
The student carried out a set of computer simulations
of a CFD code to study the real problems suffered
by a significative building in Barcelona, proposing
solutions strongly commited with environmental issues.
-
Aerodynamic design of the UdG's ecologic car "Aliga".
Guided by a series of CFD runs, the student design
the aerodynamics of the new version of the "Aliga"
(Eagle in catalan) the ecologic very low fuel consuming
car of the University of Girona. It will be put to
a hard test this year at the Shell Eco-marathon in
Nogaro (France) this year. Good luck, Aliga!
- A. Rosolen.Cardiac
electromechanical model for patient-personalized heart
geometries.
Supervised by M. Vazquez and A. Frangi (Universitat
Pompeu Fabra).
- B. Egutzkitza. CFD models
in turbulent thermal convection applied to buildings
ventilation.
Supervised by M. Vazquez and G. Houzeaux (BSC-CNS).
